This is my fourteenth year of teaching. I graduated from Texas State University in 2003 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am also certified in ESOL and TAG. I really enjoy teaching all subjects, but my passion is writing. Several years ago I became a
teaching consultant for the Central Texas Writing Project. I love to see my students write and become excited about sharing their stories. I hope that all of my students leave second grade having learned many things, but I truly hope that they learn to enjoy school most of all.
My husband, Tim, and I have been married for nine years and have two beautiful daughters named Avery and Emily. Avery celebrated her seventh birthday this summer and is in second grade here at Pond Springs. Emily is two years old and has quite the personality. We had a wonderful summer together. I really enjoyed getting to spend lots of extra time with Avery and Emily.
I also had an amazing opportunity during the summer of 2013. I was invited to attend the Discovery Education Network's Summer Institute in Vermont. I learned so much about technology integration and the resources that are available through Discovery Education. Last year, I worked very hard to incorporate many of the wonderful things that I learned into my classroom, and I am really excited and looking forward to another year where I get to try even more things.
